KidsHealth® encourages its educational partners to use KidsHealth content offline as well as online. In fact, we create information exclusively for your offline use. It’s a great way to maximize the value of your investment and to provide a cohesive strategy to your online and printed educational materials. Here are simple guidelines to follow when you use KidsHealth content offline and in ancillary online communications:

You may print any KidsHealth article or feature and distribute it as a handout. You may even make copies for mass distribution. The only requirements are that you distribute the information for educational purposes and that you do not sell it.

The best way to print articles you would like to use for handouts is to access the “printer-friendly version” icon in the bottom left corner of every article. This will link to a version of the article that’s branded with your information and is free of navigation.

KidsHealth creates materials specifically for offline use, including customizable press releases. These may be downloaded as Word documents here.

The best way to use a press release is to customize the release with your information as suggested in the blue type. Press releases spotlight KidsHealth articles, which are accessible from your website. A press release can be used “as is,” or you may edit the copy to better suit your needs and style preferences, including adding quotes from your organization’s spokesperson. You are free to write press releases that promote or incorporate information from other KidsHealth articles. You are not limited to the ones we create for you.

KidsHealth allows you to include KidsHealth articles in print materials you create, such as newsletters, tip sheets, or other handouts. Simply follow these guidelines:

If you reprint an entire KidsHealth article within a printed piece, such as a newsletter, you must include the KidsHealth copyright information at the end of the article.

If you need to shorten an article for use in printed materials (or a printed newsletter is displayed online), you must acknowledge that the article is an “edited or abridged” version and reference readers back to your website for the complete version. If the printed materials are displayed online, a hyperlink to the article should be included.

The following KidsHealth copyright information must be included within all printed publications (in addition to noting that the article is edited or abridged, if applicable):

© (or current year). The Nemours Foundation/KidsHealth®. Used under license.

Please note that KidsHealth takes great care to ensure that all of its content is balanced and thorough. We strongly encourage you to have an appropriate member of your medical staff review the edited version to validate that the medical integrity of the content has been preserved. When using KidsHealth content in printed materials, you might consider using copy from a customizable press release. These are shorter versions of much longer articles and have already been medically reviewed.

KidsHealth encourages partners to work with their media contacts to enhance exposure in the community. If the media would like to reprint a KidsHealth article as it appears on your site, they must include the following text in the byline:

© 2025 (or current year). The Nemours Foundation/KidsHealth®. Reprinted with permission.

If the media would like to feature your branded KidsHealth content online, they must establish a link to the article as it appears on your site.

NOTE: Media may not alter, change, or edit any article without express written consent from KidsHealth. KidsHealth articles go through an 18-step editorial process, which includes a minimum of two (2) medical edits. Changing any KidsHealth article may affect the medical integrity, and is not permitted.

You may include excerpts from a KidsHealth article along with a link to the article as it appears on your site in emails or e-newsletters your organization sends.

As a KidsHealth partner, you may also use KidsHealth graphics on pages you host on your servers. Using KidsHealth’s robust graphics is a great way to establish links from your site to KidsHealth content. A suite of graphics is available for your use here. <LINK?>

You can create permanent links, such as using the Asthma Center graphic as a link from pages about your pulmonology department, or use the header graphic of an article such as “Playing It Safe On Halloween” to promote your seasonal or breaking news content.

If you see a graphic within your licensed KidsHealth content that is not already available in the graphics library, you may use it freely within your online materials (including eNewsletters) so long as the graphic appears in its original state without alterations of any kind and is only used to promote the KidsHealth content (on your site) for which it was originally created.

KidsHealth works hard to provide you with many marketing and public relations tools to help generate traffic to your website and to your organization. We encourage you to use your licensed content offline and online for promotional and educational purposes. Should you wish to use a KidsHealth graphic in printed materials, please contact us <LINK> to request a higher-resolution version of the image.
